Please join us on Friday, May 4th from 5- 6 PM for a free, public panel discussion:  “Cultivating Consciousness and Environmental Justice in Acjachemen and Tongva Homelands”

UCI Community Resilience Projects is pleased to co-sponsor an upcoming panel discussion on “Cultivating Consciousness and Environmental Justice in Acjachemen and Tongva Homelands.” The panel is the keynote event following a day-long visit to UC Irvine of approximately 50 high school students from southern California Native Nations. During their visit, UCI students from the Global Sustainability Resource Center will take the high schoolers on a campus sustainability tour. The tour will also visit laboratories in the departments of Earth System Science and Physics, where students will meet with Drs. Kathleen Johnson and Franklin Dollar, two Native faculty members who are part of the host committee. After the keynote panel discussion, the day culminates with a Native Community Dinner to honor the visiting students. For more information about the panel, visit:  http://sites.uci.edu/cultivatingconsciousness/. The panel is free and open to the public.
