Community-Driven Academic Partnership Collaborators

UC Irvine collaborators in our 2018-2021 community-driven academic partnerships include UCI Community Resilience Projects’ Abby Reyes, UCI Assistant Professor of Public Health and Chicano/Latino Studies Alana LeBron, UCI Associate Professor of Public Health Jun Wu, UCI Assistant Professor of Anthropology Salvador Zarate, and student fellows. UC Irvine collaborators in the 2019 Embodying Resilience series included UCI Dance Professor S. Ama Wray and graduate students in Dance. The 2016-2017 Regional Resilience Project included UCI Historian Kristina Shull, Kimberly Serrano, and OCEJ advisory board members Michael Montoya and Adonia Lugo.

Over time, community collaborators have included community leaders within the Acjachemen Nation, Juaneno Band of Mission Indians; the CRECE Cooperativa; Jovenes Cultivando Cambios (Youth Cultivating Change); Cooperacion Santa Ana; Santa Ana Building Healthy Communities; THRIVE Santa Ana; Orange County Environmental Justice; and the Sacred Places Institute for Indigenous Peoples.

UCI Community Resilience Projects is also a partner in the National Association of Climate Resilience Planners.
